Meet the StockRats of the Stock Market and their good friend Rex, the dinosaur. 1-1/1

Notes to readers:

This is my virgin blog post. You are about to read the drafts of our new book on trading and investment which were intended for publication. I have, however, decided to offer them as non-commercials for the the reading pleasure of those whom manage to find their way to this blog site.

The material has yet been proofread nor edited by proofreader, so pardon my  oversight of typos, grammatical, spelling or paraphrasing errors should you spot any [likely you will]. I hope you will enjoy reading the chapters as much as I did writing them.

Here's the beginning with introduction to the characters; the StockRats and Rex I have created to break the monotonic nature of these financial topics.

Meet the StockRats of the Stock Market and their good friend Rex, the dinosaur.

Do you know that we, the StockRats of the stock market are just as good at keeping fishes as we are with the game of investment and trading? Our fishes are happy all the time. But we weren’t all that good at it before we met our fish fanatic friend, Rex at the aquarium one day. He is a dinosaur by the way. He gave us a very simple but yet extremely meaningful and wise piece of advice on the trick of keeping healthy fishes. He said he would trade his ‘secret’ on keeping happy fishes for our knowledge on investment and trading. We thought it was a fair deal. And so proudly he whispered his secret into our ears:

“...the trick in keeping your fishes merry isn’t in the food pellets, fish medicines, and water pump that you just bought from the shop. The answer is all in the water that your fishes live in. Just focus on keeping the water quality right and everything else will fall into place. Do you see that? Well, it took me a while to figure that out, but you know, as I always did, I managed to find the Holy Grail.”

We raised our whiskers at the brilliant point he made. It made a lot of sense to us that our emphasis should be placed on maintaining water conditions since the water is the place where the fishes live.

“So, StockRats, I know you guys know quite a bit about the stock market, tell me your version and make sure it’s worth my trade-in!”

“Well, Rex, I thought you have already figured that out?”

“Guys, you’re right just about almost everything. In fact, I believe I am getting so close to the answer you can bet all your cheese on it. I figured that it’s surely something to do with buying only shares that will go up and avoiding those that will fall. Cool? And wait! That’s not all. How about buying high and selling low? Or was it buying low and selling high? Wait, I got that one. Let me recall...”

“Rex, we love your piece of advice on keeping happy fishes. We owe you one. You mentioned that you wished to add a sperm whale to your aquarium, and we would like to help you make some money from the market so that you can make it a pair. When they make babies, we would like to adopt one. If you’d promise to be as serious about your investment and trading as you are with your aquatic hobby, it would be our pleasure to help you on that. Deal?”

“Oh good, oh good! Then I can also add a pair of dolphins, some cute piranhas, a couple of turtles and penguins, err....the great white and hammer sharks, stingrays, starfish, and yes, not forgetting the giant squid. That’s good for the time being. So how do we start?”

“Well, Rex. We’ve got all the practical stuffs and applicable skill sets of investment and trading; just about all you’d probably need in the game and nothing else. Take a look at the scroll below for the curriculum we’ve tabled for you. We are ready. Are you?”
