BullDozer XJ Momentum Pro - My Current Project

OK, I've got a few curious enquiries on what trading software project am I working on. Some asked : When it is going to be ready? What is it for? Some secrets to winning in the market? Why so long? And I thought why not document the entire development process on my blogsite and share the challenges that I faced, the lessons that I've learnt, the pitfalls, the joy and disappointments in the course. SO, here's the opening of a new topic: MY CURRENT PROJECT.

On some later dates, I bet I would love to read them to recollect those precious moments; my journey into creating one of most, in my own words, craziest trading software in the market place. [ I would like to use the word 'powerful' really, but I guess the verdict/appraising should come from the users; not me] Still lacking of humility, I must say I am really excited about its prospects and 'empowering' features.

Here's a little backdating to start my first documentation on the building of BULLDOZER XJ.....

HOW IT ALL STARTED.
As early as 1995, which was one year after into my career in stockbroking as a remisier, at the age of 22, I engaged a freelance programmer to help me design my first software to help me manage my brokering business more effectively. It was a simple version with features to help me remember clients' birthdays, remember what stocks they bought through me etc. It served me well for the few years onwards, but soon enough, advancement of new technology rendered my mini compaq notebook on MS DOS obsolete.

In year 2004, some ten years later, while I was on a vacation trip in Australia waiting for my wife to do her shopping, with nothing better to do, I started visualising a software which I then called it BLUEDOT [which is project in the making now].  I rushed to a stationery shop to get a notebook so that I could jot down my ideas before they evaporate into thin air. That notebook by the way now holds most of my paper theories in safe keeping. Bluedot remained on paper cast aside until sometime last year [2009] when I was half way writing my second book - Stockrats.

As I compiled chapter following chapter, it strikes me that this book, honestly, will not help much in improving a trader's/investor's odds in the market other than broadening knowledge. In practicality, there are simply  overwhelming factors that determine a win or lose. I have, in my most sincere gratitude, attempted many times to 'counsel' clients whom treated the stock market like casino on proper trading/ investment approaches/mentalities/strategies. Just like motivational speeches/talks/seminars, the recipient soon forgets and reverts to 'thrill seeking' and 'shortcuts - taking' habits which really I have no control over. The result - mass casualties after every rally or bull run, fatefully or faithfully? [ i don't know] Teach them how to evaluate stock's value i.e fundamental analysis? Or read a chart i.e technical analysis? Well, maybe 2 out of 10 would be interested, but few have the patience or time for that.

Truth is, I can't change habits like Tony Robbins or Robert Kawasaki....[i don't know how to spell his name] What I can do instead is to create a software that helps them do all those 'boring' and onerous analyses [big time and real time] at a click of a mouse and without even a need to click. That should solve their problems and fulfill my inspiration. Well, there are obviously no lacking of 'such' software in the marketplace as one may argue, a fraction of which are available for free in fact, but the essence is really in making it more straightforward and layman; not just a bunch of fancy ratios and numbers that leave you with no better clues  -; till you see it...you will like the idiot proof concepts....have some confidence in me..thank you!

My thoughts propelled me into using the MS PowerPoint to create a prototype in snapshots of the software features I envisaged. I presented the slides to an old school  mate [Ah Tan] of mine and a partnership was formed at once. We have since been working with a small team of programmers on tight deadlines since early February this year; four months into it, but these four months somehow feels like four long years.

Commercial time : Ah Tan happens to be running a auto paintwork respray garage in Sin Ming area. Those whom need a paintwork can contact him at 93663285 for no -obligation quotes... tell him you found his contact on my blog and enjoy a 10% discount.... then tell me you had your car resprayed at his garage for another 10% discount on my software on launching...while stocks last.....hehehehe

So that's the inception and what aspired the project.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THIS SOFTWARE?

Man and machine as always to transcend human limitations; promised to turn amateurs into pros instantly ....well, the rest is commercial- secrets until its maiden beta release ... in ?3? more months on your calendar, the equivalent of 3 years on mine :(

more on my project development until then....
